The Search is On For Singapore’s Next Top Coffee Barista!

To be held at Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Center Meeting Rooms 325 and 326, 5th -7th February 2009

The third year running this is Singapore's Premier coffee Event again the winner of the Singapore National Barista Championship (SNBC) 2009 will represent Singapore in the World Barista Championship in Atlanta Georgia in the USA. All competitors in SNBC 2007 and SNBC 2008 are encouraged again to participate in this year’s competition.

Eleen Cai, the winner of SNBC 2007, represented the country in the WBC 2007 and came in a respectable 30 out of 45. She said, “WBC has been an eye opening experience. I am amazed by the passion and enthusiasm the baristas from around the world are putting into their coffee. It has changed my perspective about the coffee craft and it has been a great learning curve. I hope to share this wonderful experience with other baristas in Singapore.”

John Ting the winner of SNBC 2008 represented Singapore in the World Barista Championships held in Copenhagen Denmark and came 32nd out of a larger field of 51, proving Singapore is improving on the world stage. John said "it was a great opportunity to meet and swap ideas also the opportunity to interact with like minded baristas from all over the world was fantastic. I would encourage other baristas to participate in the competition to learn more about the barista craft.
